In the case of archiving and managing repositories in the SAP environment, these are inbound documents, which after scanning go to the archives and outbound documents, which are generated by SAP and additionally digitally archived, which allows paper printing. These functions are helpful when communicating with a business partner, whose questions usually refer to the documents submitted. Thanks to the fact that access to necessary data is facilitated, feedback is provided in a very short time.

SAP ERP offers its users free SAP Content Server. It is an independent component of the system, used to store electronic documents. The content and format of documents are irrelevant. SAP Content Server acts as a central interface to all SAP modules and is suitable for small and medium data volumes. Larger volumes of data should be transported to appropriate archiving systems.

SAP Content Server supports the standard SAP ArchiveLink interface. It is an interface that requires a repository for archiving. It is recommended to use several repositories that will allow dividing documents by their type and storage time. The repositories organize the archive according to the wishes and requirements of customers. The most important advantages of SAP ArchiveLink include, among others, storing documents in accordance with legal regulations, efficient retrieval of essential documents, avoiding unnecessary duplication of original documents, limiting manual processing.
